"Shikiraku" was developed using special techniques and introduced to the market as a washable tatami. The tatami threads are impervious to water and can be washed, dried in a drying room, and disinfected. This ensures cleanliness and provides a hygienic environment.

Taking advantage of its unique features, "Shikiraku" is used in many facilities, including hotels, offices, elderly care facilities, and childcare facilities. "Shikiraku" tatami is used in a variety of places, including day rooms, day services, elderly care facilities, changing rooms in bathrooms, child care spaces in offices, childcare facilities, waiting rooms in hospitals and clinics, hallways and entrances of inns, guest rooms and changing rooms in hotels, and hallways and washitsu and small raised rooms in restaurants.

"Shikiraku" is working on completely upcycling tatami through repelletizing. This allows us to use resources more effectively and contributes to reducing our environmental impact.

"Shikuraku" is made with polypropylene tatami threads and is made by monofilament molding. This makes it extremely durable, resistant to damage, and less prone to the fluffing that is typical of tatami mats. This allows them to remain beautiful for a long period of time.

"Shikiraku" can be used with commercially available household sanitizers such as ethanol, alcohol, and sodium hypochlorite. The material is strong enough that you can use them every day without damaging them. This provides a clean and safe environment at all times.
